Thottal Poo Malarum (2007)

Offbeat and upbeat, this evocative romantic drama traces the two sentence in the life of Ravi (Sakthi), a college going, happy-go-lucky youngster. However, he finds himself completely altered after he meets and falls instantaneously and madly in love with Anjali (Gauri Munjal), a fellow student in his college. Ravi's life seems to hit a purple patch when Anjali also reciprocates his love. The twist in the tale comes in the form of Anjali's mother Periya Nayagie (Sukanya), a wealthy and arrogant entrepreneur, who immediately rejects the relationship and makes it her mission in life to play spoilsport in their romance. She arranges for her daughter's wedding with the son of a dreaded gangster Varadharaja Vandaiyar (Raj Kiran) in Mumbai. Not one to give up, Ravi sets off on a mission to Mumbai. He hides his true identity and manages to gain entry into Vandiyar's family. Will Ravi succeed in winning the confidence and support of Vandaiyar and his family? Will Ravi's perseverance pay off? Can he finally capture the consent of his future mother-in-law and succeed in marrying Anjali?
