Trivia:
Alden Ehrenreich Had A Super Weird Audition For Solo: A Star Wars Story

The Star Wars franchise is one of the biggest properties in the world, which means secrecy is vital in the development of the films.

Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian is Pansexual, Confirms Screenwriter Jonathan Kasdan.

After Phil Lord and Christopher Miller had been stepped away due to "creative differences," it was reported in October 2017 that Ron Howard had re-shot more than 80% of the movie.

Woody Harrelson was picked over Christian Bale as Han Solo's mentor in the movie.

Reportedly, Ron Howard was considered to direct Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace but declined the offer, calling the task "too daunting." However, he accepted the offer to direct this film eighteen years later.

A heartfelt letter was written by Joonas Suotamo to Peter Mayhew stating that he was doing his role not just for Star Wars fans, but for Mayhew himself.

Solo: A Star Wars Story marked the first time an Academy Award-winning director ever made a Star Wars film.

Alden Ehrenreich was the first actor to audition for directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

The directors in July 2016 said that while they liked a lot of the other actors they read with, they said, "The first guy we saw was the best for the part," and that led them to eventually cast Ehrenreich as Han Solo.

Originally, Josh Trank was signed on to direct the second Star Wars anthology film, after Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but eventually stepped out given the overwhelmingly bad press of his most recent film, Fantastic Four, stating, "I want to do something original after this because I've been living under public scrutiny, as you've seen, for the last four years of my life... And it's not healthy for me right now in my life. I want to do something that's below the radar. It's a personal decision to move forward on a different path. I've put a tremendous amount of thought into this, and I know deep down in my heart that I want to pursue some original creative opportunities."

This was Lawrence Kasdan's fourth and final time working on the "Star Wars" film franchise.

Dave Franco, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Miles Teller, Nick Robinson, Leo Howard, Tony Oller, Chandler Riggs, Hunter Parrish, Rami Malek, Landon Liboiron, Ed Westwick, Tom Felton, Joshua Sasse, Logan Lerman, Ansel Elgort, Jack Reynor, Colton Haynes, Max Thieriot, Scott Eastwood, Chris Pratt, Emory Cohen, Alden Ehrenreich, Taron Egerton, Jack O'Connell and Blake Jenner had screen tested for the young Han Solo. Teller, Elgort, Franco, Reynor, Eastwood, Lerman, Cohen, Ehrenreich, Egerton, O'Connell and Jenner were among the ones who made the cut for the role.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will be set before Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope and will be about Han Solo in his early years. In Han Solo's backstory, Solo was raised by space gypsies and he never knew who his family was.

Originally, Michael Kenneth Williams was casted in the film and shot scenes, but amid the reshoots he was unable to return to the set and his role was removed.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller jokingly apologized for ruining Comic-Con for Donald Glover forever after he was announced as Lando.

One of the initial co-directors, Christopher Miller, was an intern at ILM and played a stormtrooper during additional filming for the Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back.

The film's release date is May 25, 2018 which is the same month and date that Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope was release in 1977.

Ron Howard was picked to replace Phil Lord and Christopher Miller as director over Joe Johnston and Lawrence Kasdan.

During "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert Woody Harrelson revealed that "Solo" was a temporary title at this time. On October 17, 2017, Ron Howard announced the title of the movie is Solo.

The is the second installment in the Star Wars anthology series.

Alden Ehrenreich shares his birthday with Mads Mikkelsen, who played Galen Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
